Common Vaping Questions
Regularly in our stores we receive a lot of the same questions. These can be from people who are interested in a nicotine alternative device to stop using cigarettes to some people who have been vaping for some time and need a little advice. Here are our top 5 questions with detailed answers to help you out.
What is Vaping?
Vaping is an alternative means to consume nicotine that is not from the traditional methods of combustion or chewing of tobacco. By using a personal vaporizer or electronic cigarette filled with E-Liquid.
What is in E-Liquid?
E-Liquid also known a vape juice, e-juice or just juice is the liquid that you put into your vaporizer. It is then heated and becomes a vapor which you inhale. E-Liquid contains 2 base ingredients, Vegetable Glycerine (VG) and Propylene Glycol (PG). With these 2 ingredients is how the liquid becomes a vapor and also how it gives the body to the vape, which is why we base the consistency with these 2 ingredients by saying their percentage 80/20, 75,25, 70/30 etc. The higher number is the VG and the lower number is the PG. When you have a higher VG you will expect a high cloud formation with little throat hit. The lower VG and higher PG you will expect a lower cloud formation and a higher throat hit. On top of the base ingredients you then add flavoring and nicotine if necessary.
Is vaping safer than smoking cigarettes?
This is a hot question that is highly debated in today's society. There have been numerous studies that have shown that vaping has the potential to be safer than smoking cigarettes, but there needs to be more long term research and studies to confirm them. This is why the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is starting to regulate the industry. There are a lot of questions out there with little concrete answers. To put our customers at ease we tell them "do you know exactly what is in a cigarette?" we can tell you exactly what is in our e-liquid.
Will Vaping help me quick smoking?
Everybody is different when it comes to smoking alternatives. Some people do well with patches, gums and lozenges while others do not. When you vape your body receives 2 of the same satisfactions that is equal to cigarettes. That is the nicotine intake and the oral satisfaction. The one thin that vaping has the benefit over all the other options is the ability to reduce the amount of nicotine that you inhale. If you just started vaping coming from smoking cigarettes you will most likely start at a 12mg or 18mg of nicotine. If these amounts help your craving for cigarettes you can start coming down the strength of nicotine and end at 0mg and just enjoy the taste of all the flavors there are to offer.
How do you take care of your device?
This is an important one. Since the devices have lithium ion batteries they need some extra care. You do not want to leave your device in your car especially on hot days. This will cause damage to the battery and your device. You want to make sure you charge your device properly. If there is an internal battery you will want to charge your device using your computer or a car charging port. This is because the chargers you use for your phones put out higher amps then what the devices are rated for and can reduce the life of your device. If your device has removable batteries you will want to charge them in a dedicated battery charger. If you decide to have extra batteries for your device you will want to keep them in a holder that doesn't allow them to be in contact with loose change or car keys in your pocket. This is how a lot of the videos you see of batteries exploding in peoples pockets happen. With proper care and due diligence you will be happy and safe with your device.
